Welcome to more Diablo 4 in Season 13 of Lord of Hatred. Mythics aren't even that rare anymore, and that's a good thing. But what are the best sources and methods to get them with the ridiculous potential seen? Let's get into it.
Technically, whenever playing the game, a unique spawns, that could be a mythic technically, but the odds of that are still extremely low. As it states when looking at Torment One, players need to be in Torment One or higher for mythic unique items to exist. So, as players go up each Torment, they're more likely to drop.
With that in mind, multiple mythics can drop at the same time. This actually happened multiple times this season. A nice detail about mythics this season is that they actually drop with the same affixes at top roll every time with their standard power at a top roll. That's interesting because obviously the uniques have changed this season.
They have different affixes based on whatever they are found on, and a top roll is not guaranteed on the actual power. So, at the very least, mythic uniques remain reliable and consistent. They're now easier to get. But there's a new kind of mythic unique, and it's the Horadric Seal.
The Power of Horadric Seals
This, of course, decides how many charm slots are available around it. It has a passive like crit chance, and then some sort of bonus. So, what does a mythic unique Horadric Seal provide because it's not the thing needed for six charm slots? It provides a unique modifier to the charm system. This one cannot have more than five sockets.
So, only five charm slots are available, but it allows equipping two unique charms, which is usually not possible. However, in this specific case, a five-set is so important that it cannot be lost. So, it is not even possible to benefit from two unique charms in that context. As can be seen though, there is actually RNG in these resistance to all elements and Kathn's righteous will and heaven's radiant fire related set bonuses.
It is unfortunate that the first mythic unique seal is one that cannot even be relevantly used. So certainly different to regular mythic uniques, but there's plenty of potential in them. How are mythic unique seals obtained if that's what is sought after? They can be obtained in Torment levels before 10, but it's specifically called out that mythic Horadric Seals at Torment 10 and higher now drop more frequently and can be obtained in surprising locations. For players looking to gear up faster, choosing to buy Diablo 4 items from MTMMO.COM provides an efficient way to acquire necessary materials and equipment.
Prime Drop Locations and New Bosses
The first one was obtained literally at the end of a Nightmare Dungeon on a regular run during Torment 10. Nothing special, no challenging content there, not even a hard boss. And from reports from other players, at the end of a Pit Tier 90, which is the start of Torment 11, one dropped.
So, it really is just like anywhere. But maybe the most well-known common drop location for mythic seals is the new pinnacle boss, Mephisto, by opening his new horde chest with his special key, which will be explained in his section. One source that would be very reliable for this will be Undercity in the Tributes. To fund these challenging runs and upgrades, many players opt to secure reliable Diablo 4 gold for their crafting needs to maintain a steady progression.
There are the Tributes of the Horadrim, and obtaining up to greater greatly increases the odds of talisman items and their value. So, that's going to be another target that will be great as long as players are in Torment 10 or higher. But what about regular mythic uniques? How are they obtained? What are the best methods? Let's be quick on this.
There is a new pinnacle boss in the game. Found in Torment 10 or higher, there is the mythic version of Mephisto. This pinnacle boss fight is three phases. A new phase is phase one that wasn't in the story, a familiar phase two, and phase three just with pretty devastating damage on those attacks that will one-shot a lot of people.
Lair Boss Farming and War Plans
At the end of that fight, there is a chest that spawns in and a special key is needed, the mythic unique lair boss key known as the Crux of the False Prophet. By completing Season Rank 8 capstone rewards, which means defeating Lilith, the previous pinnacle boss on at least Torment 8, one of these keys will be given.
When using it to open the first chest, there's another reward, a Resplendent Cache, which is nice, but seemingly a guaranteed reward for another key from Mephisto, so they can be done again immediately. Otherwise, it is just a rare drop found from greater lair bosses at Torment 10 or higher specifically, and found extremely rarely as a reward at the end of War Plans, initiate lair bosses, world bosses, and general content.
The chest has fantastic rewards in regards to ancestral drops with lots of great affixes, but also super high mythic unique potential. One was obtained on the first go. As mentioned, it's also basically the prime reliable source of mythic Horadric Seals. It is not guaranteed, but it's very likely there.
At least the best-known source of it. The alternative to that that's a bit more reliable and consistent is lair boss farming. The familiar lair boss rules apply. Mythic uniques can be obtained from the initiate lair bosses, but they are more likely to be obtained from the greater bosses, which is now Duriel and Andariel, the Harbinger of Hatred, the noticeably harder than the rest of them, bloody Butcher.
However, Baal still exists, Lord of Lies, and it's still the case that that provides the best odds. By taking down Baal, it is possible to choose at the end what rewards are wanted from whom, and there should still be great mythic drop chances in that context. However, there's a new system that really modifies this.
Nemesis Lairs and Undercity Tributes
Under War Plans for the specific tree for lair bosses, there is new potential, and this middle path is strongly recommended. Two by two is an immediate unlock recommended. It unlocks the Nemesis Lair. After defeating a boss and opening the chest, there's a chance to get the Nemesis portal. At the first tier, this could be two initiate lair bosses that must be fought at the same time.
Not only is one chest basically opened for one key and getting three boss rewards from that, but the Nemesis portal drops have significantly more rewards and the odds of getting a mythic unique from this seem to be noticeably higher. Multiple have been obtained every single time it was done. This goes further, though.
There's the greater Nemesis version, providing the greater bosses, so even better odds. The ultimate Nemesis upgrade at the end means defeating an ultimate Nemesis lair when that spawns results in 10 horde chests worth of items. It's like 10 kills. Absolutely ridiculous potential here.
This is where a lot of mythic uniques were obtained. However, of course, there's another option via the Undercity. The mythic tribute runs. These were a rare thing that could be done in Undercity for a long time and would have a good chance of mythic uniques at the end. These days, it's basically guaranteed. In four runs, a mythic unique was obtained in three of them, but a lot more than that can be obtained with the right setup.
To get the mythic tribute to actually run these, being in higher levels makes it more likely to drop, but these were regularly obtained from handing in whispers and opening ancestral whisper caches. They have also been obtained from other sources, like at the end of a Pit run. Much like other items that can be taken to the cube and combined to upgrade them, that can also be done with the very same concept here.
Maximizing Drops and Crafting
Greater Tribute of Armaments. If five of these are put in and amalgamated, it ends up with exactly that, the mythic unique version. Remember, the same can be done with the magic versions, bringing them to rare all the way up to mythic if possible, but it is recommended to hold on to mythic tributes as long as possible for the War Plan system.
Navigating to the Undercity tree and passing through the left side through Endless Swarm and Unfortunate Souls unlocks Gutter Filth. When interacting with beacons in the Undercity, a kind of loot goblin might spawn, a Portal Prankster. If the final upgrade here is obtained, Trials and Tributes, for each Portal Prankster killed, an extra chest appears at the end.
Meaning for each Portal Prankster killed during a mythic tribute run, it is extremely likely to get a second mythic unique drop or more than that, which is how all those little clips and images of people getting 10 mythic uniques in one Undercity run are seen. That's how it's done.
A warning of the reality right now: Portal Pranksters, as stated, are rare. In experience, they are rare. To maximize this, just make sure to interact with every single beacon during an Undercity run, even if the full offering to go to the final boss is obtained.
Give the most chances to spawn these Portal Pranksters and always kill them with heavy priority. Now, of course, mythic uniques can also be crafted. Visiting the Jeweler provides the rune crafting option. Here is the mythic unique tab. This allows selecting any mythic unique wanted and basically crafting it using Resplendent Sparks and specific runes.
This is six of each type, requiring six of a specific magic, six of a specific rare, and six of a specific legendary. This used to be harder to get than it is now. There is the Horadric Cube to help with this. To craft specific legendaries, any five rare runes and any five legendary runes and one specific magic rune are used to craft the exact thing wanted, taking out the RNG.
The alternative is to use a new option in the cube, amalgamation. Taking five runes and basically consuming them to create one rune of a higher tier. What would happen when doing this? It would delete these five and give one legendary rune, randomly pulling one. So, not ideal. It's not like specific crafting like this, but it's another way to get the ones being looked for.
Plus, it could result in a rune that people like, like Ohm, and trade for the one wanted, which was done. Resplendent Sparks come in plenty via the Season Rank progression rewards. Of course, mythic uniques can also be dismantled to get them. If looking for runes, don't forget Undercity specific rune runs can be done using tributes for runs. They are called Harmony.
There are lots of ways to get mythic uniques this season and new mythic unique types in the mythic seals. Hopefully, this provided the information needed to get them. If it was useful, drop a like.
